Autumn Interior Design Trends For 2018

Keeping up with the latest interior design trends can be a mine field so for those of you who are looking to do some home renovation work this Autumn we have highlighted the biggest home decor trends for 2018.

There are two main themes for this Autumn/Winter, the first being Woodland Country Home and the second the more modern concept of a Nordic Home. This years woodland country style home takes dark rich bark like colours such as rich browns and greys and mixes them with the beautiful berry hues of purples and deep pinks. Big floral patterns take the woodland country home to the next level, creating a rich and animated woodland atmosphere. Adding touches of cooper and gold adds further depth to a woodland home, recreating the changing of colour on the trees outside.

The feel of a Nordic style home is a very different one to that of the woodland country home. In contrast think Iceland, think fur and ice. With icy greys, silver and light blues creating a cold, clean but modern and serene ambience with touches of thicker, warmer colours such as navy and purple creating a magical winter wonderland. Simplicity is key to a nordic style home, nonetheless style is very important. Big bold textured items are a key feature, textured lampshades, vases and cushions. Fur is an absolute must have for this style of home, adding fur throws & cushions and even the odd fur rug can add that much needed touch of warmth to a nordic style home.

When choosing which theme to be in keeping with this year it is important to consider the style of the structure of your home and also your style preference as this might help you to decide. Are you drawn to modern, clean lines or perhaps you are more of a country bumpkin at heart either way there is no right or wrong answer just have some fun.
